Fadnavis, Uddhav
National News: A shocking turn came in the politics of Maharashtra when Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis offered Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray in the Legislative Council to join the ruling NDA. He jokingly said, "Uddhav ji, there is no possibility of sitting in the opposition till 2029. If you want, you can come with us, but this decision will have to be taken in a unique way."
Along with this, Chief Minister Fadnavis also praised the ideology of opposition leader Ambadas Danve. He said that whether he is in the ruling party or in the opposition, his true inclination remains towards the ideology of Hindutva. Danve is from Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena faction.
This statement of Fadnavis has come at a time when Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections are near. This election is being considered very important in the politics of Maharashtra. Till now BMC is controlled by Uddhav Thackeray's party, although in the last election a close contest was seen between BJP and Shiv Sena. In such a situation, this proposal of Fadnavis is being seen as a big political move.
Recently, Uddhav Thackeray and his cousin Raj Thackeray shared a stage when they protested against the state government's decision to make Hindi language compulsory in schools. The meeting came after nearly two decades of political distance, but ideological differences between the two still persist. The Shiv Sena (UBT) is uncomfortable with the MNS's hardline policy against the North Indian community, raising doubts about the possibility of a lasting alliance between the two.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has completely rejected the news of any political alliance. He said on Twitter that the statements being attributed to him were not made by him. He says that if he has to make any political announcement, he will do it himself through a press conference. He clarified that the party meeting held in Igatpuri, Nashik on 14 and 15 July was an internal event, in which only informal talks were held with the journalists.
